A few pictures, Liberia

Above and below: we presume this is to catch fish?  We found it sitting next to the river where we ate lunch.

Morris has worked for so many years with NGO's and LDSC more recently that he knows a lot of people.  This beautiful little girl loves Morris.

This huge tree is a cotton tree--hard to spot the puffs from his picture, but they are there.  We haven't seen one in a long time, and we thought it only grew on bushes...

This latrine hasn't functioned for about 6 years and the community wants a new one.  Amazingly the Red Cross, they say, put a hand pump well only 40 feet away; this latrine still smells.  Everyone knows the minimum is about 75-100 feet away, so we wonder why a well was put in so close to it; it was for a nearby school.  The water is yellow and of course will never be drinkable.
