| This latrine hasn't functioned for about 6 years and the community wants a new one. Amazingly the Red Cross, they say, put a hand pump well only 40 feet away; this latrine still smells. Everyone knows the minimum is about 75-100 feet away, so we wonder why a well was put in so close to it; it was for a nearby school. The water is yellow and of course will never be drinkable. |
